All final-year undergraduate students enrolled on the BA Media Communications and BA Film and Screen Studies degrees at Bath Spa University are considered for The Centre for Media Research Student Award, a special prize awarded to one Film or Media student at the end of their studies. The winner exemplifies our core graduate attributes of being an exceptional creative thinker and maker, with outstanding skills in research, digital literacy, global and ethical awareness, and creative collaboration.


This winner of the Award is invited to publish their individual dissertation research, which must show exemplary quality, scope, and ambition. This research may take the form of either an article or a creative media artefact with accompanying written commentary. The recipient of the Award is agreed by Bath Spa’s Film and Media lecturing team, led by the editors of the International Journal of Creative Media Research, and the winner is presented at the Summer Graduation ceremony, where this student is also invited to deliver the prestigious student valedictorian address.
